Areas of Strength
| Lingnan is an internationally recognized liberal arts university with Hong Kong characteristics, encompassing the best of Eastern and Western traditions. It shows its research strength stretching across its three academic areas of Arts, Social Sciences and Business Studies. Its institution-wide research performance index doubled from 38.85% in 1999 to 76.35% in 2006 in the release of the latest Research Assessment Exercise. In terms of institution-wide research performance across all eight government-funded tertiary institutions, Lingnan is ranked fourth. Apart from the high standard of research and academic performance, Lingnan University has the highest residential rate among all universities in Hong Kong. About 75% of the students live in the student hostels. |
